AtomsPast Basics Tutorial

In this tutorial we will learn about the two main Resources in AtomsPast: Time and Power.

Time as a Resource: Activation Timers

While not the most interesting sounding name, Activation Timers (or AcTi for short) are actully very simple. Every Action in AtomsPast cost a certain amount of Activation Time to perform. For Models when they Perform Battlefield Actions (such as Moving or Attacking) then those Actions cost a certain amount of Activation Timers. Models then cannot Perform another Battlefield Action until their AcTi are removed.

The Players Activation Timers are "Downticked" or lowered by one at the start of each Players turn. This leads to an interesting Gameplay experience where your tactics in timing are more important, additionally not every Model will be able to Activate every turn, making turns run faster and smoother.

Spells use this same system with only two differences: They start the game at thier AcTi cost (which you see when you make them), and they take one Power to Cast.

The choice of how to use your Power

Power in AtomsPast is the Resource you use to change the flow of Battle. Power can be used to change AcTi, Cast Spells, or add dice to important rolls. How you use your Power each turn will shape your Battlefield Strategy.
